IS MY TICKET PURCHASE TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
No. Prizes won are not taxable and therefore the ticket purchase cannot be used as a tax deduction.
HOW DOES THE 50/50 ADD-ON WORK?
The 50/50 Add-On has to be ordered in conjunction with your Home Lottery ticket. 50/50 Add-On tickets can be added on to your Home Lottery ticket at the following price points: Single for $10, five for $25 or fifteen for $50.
The 50/50 prize value will depend on the nature of sales. A minimum $50,000 will be awarded, however the more 50/50 Add-On's sold, the higher the value of the prize. The winner will take half the jackpot and the Kinsmen Club will take half. Visit KinsmenHomeLottery.com for an update on the size of the pot!
HOW DOES THE CASH CALENDAR ADD-ON WORK?
The Cash Calendar Add-On has to be ordered in conjunction with your Home Lottery ticket. Cash Calendar Add-On tickets can be added on to your Home Lottery ticket at the following price points: Single for $25 or five for $50.
$1,000 a day will be given away in July and $5,000 on Fridays.
IF I WIN THE HOUSE DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN IT OR MAY I SELL IT?
Once the home is awarded to the winner(s) they do not have to live in it. Any prize won can be sold if the winner wishes to do so.
IF I SELL THE HOUSE WOULD I HAVE TO PAY TAX ON THE SALE AMOUNT?
No. Lottery winnings are not taxable in Canada. For further details regarding the sale of such goods, please seek professional counsel.
IS THERE CAPITAL GAINS TAX ON PRIZES IF I SELL THEM?

DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY PRIZE OR CAN I TAKE THE CASH EQUIVALENT?
All prizes must be accepted as awarded. There are cash substitutes offered for some prizes in this lottery, please refer to the brochure or visit KinsmenHomeLottery.com for more details.
IF I WIN A VACATION BUT CAN NOT TRAVEL, CAN I TAKE THE CASH EQUIVALENT?
No. However, travel prizes are transferable and you may give it to someone else.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CLAIM MY PRIZE?
1 year. If arrangements are not made and/or prizes are not picked up by the deadline, unclaimed prizes will be returned to the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon and donated to a charitable organization.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN NOT PICK UP MY PRIZE IN PERSON?
Arrangements may be made to have a prize shipped to you freight collect or if someone other than yourself will be claiming the prize on your behalf, you must provide them with written and signed authorization along with your original prize letter you received from Ernst & Young.
CAN SOMEONE WHO LIVES OUTSIDE SASKATCHEWAN BUY A TICKET?
The lottery is intended for residents of Saskatchewan only. Purchasers must be in the province when purchasing a ticket and tickets will only be mailed to an address within Saskatchewan.
HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO PURCHASE A TICKET?
Purchasers should be a minimum of 18 years of age to purchase (at time of sale); in addition no person(s) under the legal age may have their name appear on such ticket. I.e.: "In Trust" situations involving minors should be avoided.

ARE THE PRIZES DONATED?
No. The prizes are purchased by the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon using the tendering process.
HOW ARE THE WINNERS NOTIFIED?
All winners are notified in writing by the accountant of record, Ernst & Young LLP. The letter explains what they have won and where and how to claim their prize. A list of winners will be posted at www.KinsmenHomeLottery.com. If all tickets are sold by the Early Bird deadline of June 1, the list of winners will be published on June 20, 2018. If tickets remain after the Early Bird deadline, the list of winners will be published on July 4, 2018.
HOW WILL PROCEEDS BE USED?
Proceeds will be used to support Saskatoon's greatest needs; the lottery brochure contains specific proceeds information. More specific inquiries regarding proceeds should be directed to the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon.
